James MacMillan signs contract with Chamber Philharmonic
On Wednesday 14 April James MacMillan signed the contract appointing him to be permanent guest conductor of the Netherlands Radio Chamber Philharmoni as off September 2010. The documents were signed in Studio 1 of the Netherlands Broadcasting Music Center in the presence of Kees Dijk (manager ot the Netherlands Radio Chamber Philharmonic and Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra, on the left) and Henk Swinnen (artistic manager, on the right).
Over the past years James MacMillan has regularly collaborated with the Netherlands Radio Chamber Philharmonic. In April 2010 he has conducted the orchestra in CD-recordings of two of his own works: A deep but dazzling darkness (for violin, chamber orchestra and tape) and the worldwide known Veni, veni, Emmanuel (for percussion and orchestra). This CD is to be released some time in 2011.
